What is d Pantheno

D Panthenol, Other name is dexpanthenol or provitamin B5. It is a dexer of the panothenol. CAS: 81-13-0. Molecular formula: C9H19NO4. Molecular weight: 205.25gm/mol. D Panthenol is insensitive to light, heat (75℃), oxygen, and heavy metals.

D Panthenol is a colorless to pale yellow, tasteless and transparent high-sticky liquid that is easily soluble in water, ethanol, methanol and propylene glycol, soluble in chloroform and ether, slightly soluble in glycerol, and insoluble in vegetable oil, mineral oil and fat. The heat is relatively stable, and the pH value is 4 to 7 (the most suitable pH value is 6.0).

It is a widely used vitamin B class nutritional supplements, widely used in medicine, food, feed, cosmetics and other fields, skin agents, skin care, hair cosmetics are widely used. The efficacy of D Panthenol in the skin has been clinically confirmed in many countries, Europe, the United States, Japan, cosmeceuticals products, are using a large number of panitol, D Panthenol is relatively easy to penetrate the stratum corneum, has a strong moisturizing effect, help to relieve skin discomfort, itching, stimulate the growth of epidermal cells.

D Panthenol contains three hydroxyl structures with high physiological activity. In the human body, it can be converted into pantothenic acid, and then synthesize coenzyme A, to promote the metabolism of human protein, fat and sugar, and to protect the mucosa and hair luster on the skin surface, and the lack of D Panthenol will lead to skin lesions and physiological disorders.

The Functions of D Panthenol

1.Superior deep moisturizing performance: d panthenol for skin ,pan-alcohol is soluble in water,with a small molecular weight, which can effectively penetrate the cuticle, infiltrate the cuticle on the skin surface, d panthenol skin benefits :has a strong moisturizing effect, effectively improve the skin roughness, make the skin soft, and not sticky. At the same time, D Panthenol contains three hydroxyl structures, can maintain water, with excellent moisturizing ability.

2.Accelerating wound healing: As one of the important components of energy metabolism, D Panthenol also has the role of cell differentiation, which can strengthen the skin barrier. Stimulate epithelial cell growth, accelerates epidermis wound healing time, repair tissue trauma; effective on eczema, sunburn, and baby diaper rash.

Studies have reported that D Panthenol slows down inflammation and promotes wound healing, and found that a moisturizer containing 5% pantothenol improved wound healing after laser surgery.

Several studies in mice have shown that pantothenic acid can increase fibroblast productivity. It contributes to wound healing and is therefore applied in anti-aging products. Studies have shown that a complex containing pantothenol and nicotinamide improves the signs of skin aging in women aged between 30-60 years.

3.Nursing effect of hair: D panthenol for hair, moisturize the hair for a long time, improve hair luster, reduce hair fork, prevent crisp and fracture, and repair damaged hair.

Using a shampoo or conditioner containing pan-alcohol can leave some thick and clear residue in the hair. These substances can wrap the hair and act as a bright light. Despite not adding dense and reinforcing hair, this form of vitamin B5 works as a lubricant to improve hair quality.

At the same time, in the hair care products, D Panthenol can cover the hair surface to play a protective effect, but also can penetrate the hair deeply. In hair damage experiments (common and bleached hair), D Panthenol was found to reduce breakage.

4.Nursing effect of nails: Panthenol can enhance hydration and improve nail flexibility.

Sum Up:

1. After the Panthenol enters the human body, it will convert to pantothenic acid, and then it plays a role;

2. Panthenol has the effect of moisturizing, soothing, repairing and promoting damaged skin healing;

3. For cream products, it is recommended to add 5% to achieve good repair results.
